GOVEE RGBIC LED PERMANENT OUTDOOR LIGHTS
· Review provided by us.govee.com · November 27, 2023
For the overall function of these lights they are as advertised and look great at night. As for my rating of 4 stars instead of 5 stars was for the installation. It was not quite as easy as shown and there are reasons for that. It was a humid/damp day when I installed and since these are permanent I wanted them to be that way. So, I read reviews of lights falling (which I had a few do while installing) and I decided the few braces they provided needed to be put on every light to make sure were supported so they could not fall over time. I tried to find more of the same brace on 3M website and even emailed customer service to no avail. Found some other useable braces on Amazon that I used. Also customer support could get back to you ALOT faster.
Overall, this is a recommended product if you don't want to constantly put up and take down lights during holidays.
Fantastic effect!

Still learning the app and my options, but we love the look and all the flexibility. I am concerned about how to protect when its time to paint the house again, but that should be several years down the road. Also, the adhesive began to fail rather quickly. Not every light, but once one lets loose they begin to sequentially fall over the next few days if you dont attach it with a screw in clip. SOI opted to use T50 staples and a staple gun set to minimum pressure. That actually worked great and did not damage the wire! But you need to be patient and precise as the staples are only slightly wider than the cable. Note - I have an older home with painted wood soffit. I would not recommend staples if your soffit is vinyl or aluminum. Pretty sure it would either damage it or not hold very well.
Permanent Outdoor LED lights

Well made and pretty easy to install. Would like to see the external on/off button as a remote which would eliminate duplicate permanent switches and having to locate them. I’m assuming most people would not even need to use them as it’s an app based set. The set screws for the tiny tabs are the dreaded Philips head. They strip so easily. Would be nice to have a cardboard template for distance placement from any wall. I made my own from the box which made it so easy. Perhaps a printed cutout on the box that we could cut out. Would be great if the app was customizable so that the products owner would be on a main page with all its settings. It’s a pain having to switch tabs. The making my own pattern is difficult to use on my larger iPhone. The settings to do so should be on one page so that the grid selection is larger , otherwise they are so hard to select. Love the look of the lights.
Execellent Idea - Needs a Few Improvements

I love the idea of the permanent Christmas lights. We bought a 150' string and a 50’ string. The installation was a bit harder than I thought. I think it would be easier if the lights themselves had an area for a screw or clip to go through rather than having to install that separately. Also, I would like to see some additional lights per string so they are a bit closer together. Also more color options. White and now black with the Pro is a good start, but how about tan and brown too? My house is tan and the white stick out like a sore thumb. I do love the colors though and the pre-sets in the app are great! I’d like to see Apple Homekit available with the light strings. I have an iPhone and bought the non-pro (the Pro were not in stock and I didn’t even see them on your website until after mine were up). Why not make the non-pro work with Apple Homekit too?
